After the successful GMB campaign to reclassify Technicians into Band 5, GMB, in collaboration with other trade unions, is now actively working on securing a similar reclassification for PTS, ECAs, and ASCs. This effort aims to consider moving them into higher bands.

The Job Evaluation Group has recently examined data as part of the emergency services review and has created three new job profiles to better align with the increased demands within the ambulance service. This initiative has prompted us to explore whether ECAs and ASCs could be reclassified under the new Band 4 profile.

Work is also under way for our PTS colleagues.
