GMB members working across the NHS have voted to accept the latest pay award. After a thorough ballot, 61% of members opted to accept the offer, marking a significant step forward in the ongoing pay negotiations. GMB extends its thanks to all members who participated, spoke to their colleagues, and took action to ensure their voices were heard.
With this decision, GMB will formally notify the Secretary of State of the members’ acceptance, calling on the Government to implement the pay award in full. This includes the necessary funding to refresh the Agenda for Change framework, a cornerstone of NHS pay and working conditions.
As attention turns to the 2025/26 pay negotiations, the Government has already initiated the NHS Pay Review Body (PRB) process. In recent years, GMB has chosen not to engage with the PRB, campaigning instead for reform. GMB’s National NHS and Ambulance Committees are set to meet and deliberate on whether to re-engage with the PRB this year, and members are invited to share their views on the matter.
Members working within EMAS delivered a closely divided result in the ballot, with an equal 50% of members voting to accept and reject the pay award. Despite the tight outcome, the pay offer has been accepted overall.
