The GMB are pleased to see the announcement by East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust about rebanding our ECA and ASC colleagues into the new agenda for change band 4 role of Emergency Ambulance Associate where they meet the criteria. This is in line with the revised national ambulance profiles which the GMB has fought for over the last few years and has continued to champion for their use within EMAS.

We will also be asking the trust for discussions about the requirements and opportunities for our UCA colleagues to be able to progress to the new EAA role

The GMB was involved in the whole project and are delighted that this positive outcome is finally happening. We look forward to continuing to support our colleagues and will continue to fight for better pay and conditions at both local and national levels.
