The result of the GMB@EMAS ballot for Industrial Action are as follows
Entitled to Vote: 2342
Votes Cast: 741 (31.64%)
Result:
For Industrial Action: 516 (69.82%)
Against: 223 (30.18%)
As you can see from the above result, the turnout was 31.64%
This means we have not reached the required legal threshold of 50% of members that are entitled to vote, to take industrial action over the current dispute.
But over 500 GMB members were/are still unhappy with the whole rota review and that is something EMAS need to address.
Your GMB representatives will continue to try and find solutions to any rota related problems on a station by station, rota by rota basis. We expect EMAS will work with us to resolve issues.
If agreement with EMAS is not reached, we may well be in a position where we raise a formal collective grievance on a station by station, rota by rota basis.
I sincerely hope this is not required.
Thank you for your continued support of your reps.
